DESCRIPTION
NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant is a one component paintable water based sealant, which on curing will form an acrylic rubber sealant that will exhibit very good adhesion characteristics to most construction substrates.
KEY APPLICATION
NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant is suitable for decorative finishing's before painting, filing of cracks and many other DIY applications. It was developed for sealing around windows, door frames, baseboards or any joint or gap where a weather-tight seal is required.
KEY BENEFITS
- The acrylic rubber formed from NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant is resistant to UV radiation, moisture extreme temperature fluctuations (between -30°C & 80°C) and tensile and compressive stresses. The elasticity of the rubber is retained throughout the temperature range indicated.
- NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant adheres well to wood, masonry, brick and plaster. It cures to form a flexible non-yellowing seal without staining or bleeding.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant should only be used where slight joint movement is anticipated. In extremely deep joints, use foam joint filler. Tooling is recommended and if possible, should be completed in one continuous stroke.
- It is recommended to use a solvent such as MEK or Acetone to clean surfaces before application of the sealant. It is important however to check the compatibility of the solvent with the area being cleaned. If there is any uncertainty regarding the application, adhesion tests should be carried out.
- To achieve good adhesion to the desired substrate, it is recommended that the surface is dry and paintable.
- A minimum of 2 hours dry time is required before painting with latex or oil base paint. Allow extra dry time during periods of high humidity and/or cool temperatures.
- NO NONSENSE Acrylic Sealant when diluted with water, can be used as an initial bond primer
